Emily Broadbent

During her 25-year career in communications Emily has advised leaders and senior ministers of state and federal governments across portfolios as diverse as counter-terrorism, emergency management, planning, environment, energy and resources and the arts.
Her early experience working at regional and suburban newspapers covering local, state and federal government issues alongside grassroots community concerns and campaigns has helped shape Emily’s understanding of diverse issues management demands, stakeholder interests and storytelling.
Emily specialises in media relations, policy and political advisory and speechwriting to help Civic’s clients navigate complex issues and elevate their public presence.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University in Journalism and Gender Studies and a Master of Media and Communications from Monash University.
